At High Peak Dental Care we have a very friendly and helpful team wanting to make your visit as relaxing and comfortable as possible. We are happy to answer any questions you may have and believe in offering you choice and information about your dental care.
High Peak Dental Care is situated in the heart of Chapel-en-le-Frith and offers dental care to patients in the surrounding villages and the wider community. We provide the highest quality of treatment in a friendly and inviting environment. All of our staff are committed to continuing dental education and keeping abreast of the changes in modern dentistry.
We always encourage preventive techniques – helping you to understand how to maintain the health of your mouth and keep it free of tooth decay and gum disease.
Our patients are very lucky to be able to access Specialist level treatments such as Periodontics (Gum disease treatment and gum improvement surgery) and Prosthodontics (replacement of teeth: implants, dentures, bridges, crowns). Our Hygienists can put a sparkle in your smile and help you to keep your teeth and gums healthy and strong.

Dr Shahzad Akhtar Principal Dentist
Chaz qualified from Cardiff University in 1995 and has been the principle Dentist at High Peak Dental Care for more than 20 years. His commitment to his patients is second to none and he will always go that extra mile to help his patients in whatever way he can.
Out of work, Chaz spends his time with his 3 lovely daughters, where at weekends they enjoy action packed family activities.
Usman Khan Dentist
Hi Everybody, my name is Usmaan! I grew up in the South of Manchester. I graduated from the University of Liverpool. I began my career with Dental Training in Cheshire. While I prioritise holistic dental care, I have a developing interest in biomimetic restorative and aesthetic treatments. The constant drive to achieve optimal results for my patients is what motivates me on a day to day basis. In my spare time you can usually find me training or spending time with family. I can't wait to meet you all.
James Hunt Hygiene Therapist
James qualified as a Dental Therapist in 2017. He joined the team at High Peak Dental Care in 2017. James has been an asset to the practice since joining us. He is a forward thinker and enjoys every aspect of his varied job role.James is a keen motorcyclist and car enthusiast. He enjoys local walks with his fiance, daughter and cocker spaniel, Daisy. He has recently taken an interest in cookery, making hearty home meals for his family & friends.
Stephanie Heywood Practice Manager
Steph is the Practice Manager. She has been at High Peak Dental Care since 2014 and has many years of managerial experience. As the Practice Manager she is here to ensure the smooth running of the practice, from making sure all patients have a lovely experience with us to looking after the staff.
Steph spends her time outside of work with her two boys and husband, enjoying typical family life. She also enjoys travelling within the UK and abroad.
Mercedes Pollitt Lead Dental Nurse
Saids started her Dental Nurse training with us in 2015, previously she was a full time care assistant at a nursing home. She qualified from the Manchester Dental Hospital University in early 2017 with a national diploma QCF in dental nursing. Mercedes puts 100% in to her Nursing and has a wonderful chairside manner.
Outside of work Saids enjoys spending time with family and friends and will often pop into the care home for a visit to fondly loved residents.
Jessica Daly Dental Nurse
Jess joined the team in September 2022. Jess started dental nursing in 2019 and qualified in 2021 with dentrain. We are really excited to have her on board.In her spare time Jess enjoys spending time at home that she shares with her boyfriend. She also likes going out socialising with her friends and family.
Maisy Needham Trainee Dental Nurse
Maisy started at the practice in September 2022. She is doing her training at Manchester Dental Hospital and will be qualified in March 2024. She is excited to be joining our team.
In her spare time, Maisy enjoys spending time with her boyfriend and going out with her friends. She also likes to take her dog out on long walks at the weekend.
